GROWING TO HELP MORE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

Since opening its doors in 2005, Clear Horizons Academy has more than quadrupled in size, reaching its physical capacity. It now has a growing waiting list. For this reason, Clear Horizons is embarking on a new, exciting chapter in its history. To best serve the growing number of children diagnosed with autism, Clear Horizons has begun a $6.5 million capital campaign to build an expanded state-of-the-art facility. With the generous support of community members like you, we can provide even more children with autism the hope of a brighter future. This new, world-class facility will enhance not only the life-changing programs already underway, but it will also provide an opportunity for significant growth of services to the autism community that would not be possible otherwise. We are committed to expanding our range of services to better meet the needs of each child diagnosed with autism and more effectively support their families. Through the development of this new campus, we will be able to triple the size of our student body and expand offerings to include junior-high and high school aged children. Clear Horizons exists to serve the broader autism community and families, at the heart of which are children. Our new facility is designed to be a safe haven for children with special needs and their families, where they can readily access the life-changing resources they need.

OUR NEW CAMPUS

Clear Horizons’ new facility (approximately 31,000 square feet) will be situated on 10 acres of land located near a major freeway corridor where it can be conveniently accessed by families from surrounding communities. Phase I of the new school will be able to accommodate 100 students in grades ranging from preschool to secondary school. It will also incorporate features centered on creating an optimal learning environment for children with ASD, including:

• 10 large classrooms with special lighting,storage, bathrooms (for lower grades) and observational windows
• Occupational, speech and physical therapy and sensory rooms
• A music/drama room
• A cafeteria and commercial kitchen where children can mingle and learn life-skills
• A large auditorium/gymnasium with stage
